Curated by Sabourin Costes
The selection reflects this dialogue between past and present. Mineral plasters, softly glazed ceramics and natural stone reference the villa’s architectural fabric, while warm woods, tactile textiles and understated metal details introduce clarity and functionality. Muted greens and chalky neutrals recall frescoed surfaces and garden views, creating a palette shaped by light rather than contrast. Inspired by Sabourin Costes’ refurbishment of a room within the Villa Medici, home of the French Academy in Rome, this curated collection explores a careful balance between heritage and contemporary intervention. Tasked with rethinking an existing interior, the studio worked with restraint — preserving the historical character of the space while introducing a precise, contemporary material language.
