- Caring for preserved moss is easy. Our moss designs are maintenance-free. These formerly living plants are preserved with organic compounds that protect the feel, texture, look and color of moss and plants. A natural solution replaces the water content in the plant, preventing decay. In some cases, a non-toxic dye is used to imitate the vibrant color of the moss. Because they are preserved, these designs do not require any upkeep. There’s no need for irrigation infrastructure or grow lamps—your artwork can hang wherever you need it. You may want to dust your piece occasionally—we recommend using compressed air, like you would for your computer. Otherwise, you can simply enjoy the beauty each design brings to your space
