- Clean regularly with a neutral cleaner and a dust mop to remove the dirt. Pick up any spills as soon as possible. Acidic cleaners: Orange juice, lemondae, wine, vinegar, liquors etc. will cause reactions such as deterioration of dry veins and oxidation on polished marble, traverntine, limestone and onyx. If these natural stones are installed in an area where staining liquids are liable to cause problems, then the flooring should be sealed and finish applied. Clean natural stone with 'special stone cleaners', 'pH balanced cleaner', or 'neutral base cleaners'. Do not clean any natural stone with acidic cleaners, including (but not limited to) vinegar or cleaners with "lemon" or "lime" on the label. These products will abrade the polish from the stone
